D&ad trip - London, Brick Lane 2013

These are some images that I took from the D&ad trip to London, they are what we went to see and what we found in terms of graffiti and various other forms of street art.

This is the D&ad logo and their iconic piece/poster, I like the poster as it has an illusion effect to it and using the two colours they used helps it to stand out and defiantly catches the eye. From a design aspect I think the colours and the layout works really well and although it looks like an in depth design it was made completely from rotated triangles. It appears to look like a tunnel in a hexagon shape and the logo is at the end which I like and think is a clever form of advertisement.

This Basement jaxx poster was a design by a student from a university that was exhibiting their work at the D&ad. i really liked this poster design as it caught my eye with the colours and repeated basic design, I like the repetitive of 3 using the same type and different background as it attempts to display its meaning in more than one way, i feel that this poster is a modern design and is basically the new era of design.

These are two pieces of graffiti we see whilst walking around London on the way to Brick Lane, these are very detailed pieces. I really like these two pieces as they look really good and stood out from all the other street art we see.

This is a piece of street art we see by an artist called Space Invader, this is good because of how original it is and also the location where he placed it, he placed it down Brick Lane which is basically a lane that has been left to its own devices, he could have placed it on something or somewhere well recognised or famous instead he placed it somewhere harder to spot and up high this shows he didn't do it for the attention but to express his work and show others.

This is another piece of graffiti that I found down Brick Lane, this is another very detailed piece and I like it because it looks really good and obviously took along time to create and shows the artists passion for street art. I also like this because I think it has a meaning to it and the eyes are appealing  and made to look realistic.
