Every website on the world wide web has been designed by someone somewhere good or bad but basically its made of lots of complex codes.

HTML - hypertext markup language
XHTML - extensible hypertext markup language
DHTML - dynamic hypertext markup language
CSS - cascading style sheets

HTTP -
FTP -

javascript -
cookies -

HTML tags-
HTML tags are what is used to actually put things on a website, common tags include...

CSS-
cascading style sheets-

used to create the visuals of the website
backgrounds
positioning

sizing
margins
text alignment

Images and Pictures-

for images and all media to go on the internet it has to be saved as a suitable file, for instance the html much be saved as a .html file
the css as a .css file
other web file extensions are
.java
.php
.swf
.flv
.mp3
.mp4
.mpeg
.avi

Images should be saved as...
.jpg - JPEG images, lossy file type
.gif - 8-bit, 256 colours, animation
.png - portable network graphics up to 48 bit, transparency
.tif - photograph printing, not great for web
.bmp - bitmap image, uncompressed, windows friendly
.svg - scaleable vector graphics, created by W3C, interactive websites





















Saving for the web:

-For web use either JPEG or better PNG (PNG24)
-In illustrator or photoshop:
  +Cmd+alt+shift+s
When creating a new document it shouldnt be any less than 72.



















SEO- search engine optimisation:
     -it is a code that effects how search engines find websites
meta data.

  -title

 -portfolio
 -advertising

 -work

Behance - its an only portfolio that is free to have and it allows you to share your work with everyone and also help you get inspiration for your own work.

Analysis of web layouts.
    Thumbnails, think about the layout of each page
    Remember that the basic layout should follow the style.
